LaMont “Montee Jamal” Evans is Chief Innovation & Development Officer of mojaevans Professional & Publishing Services. Evans founded this company in 2002 as a single owner and manager and served as Chief Executive Officer of SNAVE Consulting, which preceded mojaevans Professional & Publishing Services.
In addition to his duties at mojaevans PPS, Evans serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Healthy Black Communities, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Decatur, Georgia providing services both domestically and internationally; Co-Founder of Ghana HIV/AIDS Awareness Week; and Lead Partner on the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Strategic Leadership Council.
Since 1991, Evans has served on a number of boards, committees and planning bodies (Board Member, Blacks Assisting Blacks Against AIDS, President, African American Student Organization, Founder & President, DeVry Student Government Association, Board Member, Asian American AIDS Services, Board Member, DeVry Student Activities Organization, Chairman, Illinois Board of Higher Education - Student Advisory Committee, Vice Chairman, Warababa – A New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation, Board Member-Chairman, Louis E. Harris Center for Youth Development, Mentor, Cook County Mentoring Network, Advisor, National Society of Black Engineers - DeVry Chapter, Advisor, National Society of Hispanic Engineers - DeVry Chapter, Co-Chair of the St. Louis Ryan White Title I Planning Council).
From 1999 – 2002, Evans served as the Director of National Programs for National AIDS Education & Services for Minorities, Inc. (Atlanta, GA) where he was responsible for the African American Men United Against AIDS program which oversaw community mobilization and leadership in 33 states. In 2003, Evans served as the Executive Director for Concerned Black Men, Inc. of Philadelphia where he was responsible for managing over $2M in federal funding and leading up several key federally funded initiatives (i.e. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and US Department of Education, DHHS Office of Public Affairs).
Evans earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from DeVry University (Chicago) in 1998 and is currently working on a dual degree (MBA in Global Business & Ph. D. in Leadership and Organization Development) at Walden University with anticipated graduation dates of 2008 and 2010, respectively. |
